How to become the biggest solution to the US energy crisis

If you are unaware of the US energy crisis, then let us summarize. As we depend more and more on electricity, especially in transportation, the electrical demand increases exponentially. This requires more power generation, however, sustainable energy such as wind and solar are barely solvent, inconsistent, and can’t be developed fast enough; not to mention expensive wasteful battery requirements. Yet the biggest crisis is the grid system bottleneck. We need more electrical transmission infrastructure.

The solution… unburden the grid while salvaging stranded and wasted energy. There is more wasted energy in the US than energy used by the US. Why? Because the economies of scale do not tip in favor of harnessing these fuel sources. 

For example, flare gas is natural gas that is burnt in flare stacks instead of piped to a refinery to be either converted to electricity or distributed to consumers. It may not seem like much, but in 2019, the reported quantity of natural gas flared in the US was enough to generate electricity for the entire country. 

By capturing natural gas that is stranded or flared and converting it into electricity, greenhouse emissions are even reduced by at least 50%; and with sequestration, 100%.

Why isn’t this a standard practice then? For three primary reasons: (1) most sites are too far to justify the transmission costs of getting the power to the grid. (2) Most stranded energy opportunities are too small to be entertained by the major players in the industry. (3) Innovation and change are only motivated by financial reward, and most of the players are unaware of how profitable stranded energy can be.
